SWGs are made of high quality metal strips 0.2 mm thick (AISI 304, 316, 316L, 316Ti, 321) and soft filling (graphite: 550 ° C, PTFE: 250 ° C, Thermiculite 835: 980 ° C) which are spirally wound together, firm or soft (LS-low stress). The usual material for the inner ring is the same material as the metal used in making the spiral. The outer ring is not in contact with the media and they are mostly made of carbon steel (SS also). To prevent corrosion they are protected by galvanic or paint coating.
CORRICULITE SWG - special construction for flange resistance to corrosion in seawater and hydrocarbons.
We are distributors for Flexitallic® Ltd , a large English group that is an innovator in the field of spiral wound gaskets - they designed and created them!
We have a large stock of dimensions according to ANSI (1/2 "to 78", class from 150 to 2500 lb) and EN (DN 10 to DN 600, PN 10 to PN 320)
SPM - basic type, only sealing part
C / O - only with external centering ring
C / I - with outer and inner ring
RIR - only with inner ring
LOW STRESS (LSI) SWGs
Unlike traditional SWGs, LSI gaskets are designed to accommodate at just 25,000 psi screw load, meaning this revolutionary product can be used in a wide range of light load applications, including the 150 and 300 lb classes. PTFE filling allows safe sealing at extreme pH values and greatly improves sealing performance while reducing unexpected emissions.
LSI spirometal gaskets represent a major breakthrough in sealing technologies, and are only available at Flexitallic, which invented this type of sealant some 80 years ago and has now taken it to a new, higher level.
Available in a variety of metal variants, designed to meet a specific application.
